The “Acute Geneeskunde” (Acute Medicine) app provides advice on the most common emergency diagnoses, based on evidence-based guidelines.
The app presents the advice in a clear manner and is always accessible, both online and offline. The app is suitable for specialists, residents and medical students.

In the app’s menu, the following topics are displayed:
Anaphylaxis, Bleeding, Endocrinology, Neurology, Water and Electrolyte Disorders, Acid Basin Disorders & Editorial Board.
Anaphylaxis
‘Anaphylaxis’ provides information on the cause, differential diagnosis, physical examination, diagnosis and management in allergic reactions.
Bleeding
‘Bleeding’ provides information on various clotting disorders and shock from blood loss.
Cardiology
‘Cardiology’ provides information on acute coronary syndrome, cardiogenic shock, acute heart failure and cardiac arrhythmias.
Endocrinology
‘Endocrinology’ reviews diabetic keto-acidosis and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic non-ketotic syndrome.
Neurology
‘Neurology’ provides information on emergency neurological conditions and the Glasgow Coma Scale.
Water and electrolyte disorders
‘Water and electrolyte disorders’ provides information on the causes and management of hyperkalemia, hypernatremia, hypokalemia and hyponatremia.
