Tropical Medicine
Our English app “Tropical Medicine” is for all health care providers involved in the care of patients in the tropics. The app includes modeled guidelines (WHO and MSF), interactive flow charts and useful calculators.

Description of the app
Guidelines and protocols are important sources of information for medical specialists (in training) and medical students. By correctly interpreting these sources, they deliver the best care to their patients.
Unfortunately, guidelines and protocols are often large, hard-to-read documents, which can make finding specific content time-consuming.
In addition, they are not always within easy reach in remote areas.
By interpreting and user-friendly modeling the essence of these resources, their (offline) use can help and relieve the caregiver. This benefits both the patient and the caregiver.
The app “Tropical Medicine” is intended for all healthcare providers involved in tropical medicine and contains guidelines, flow charts and calculators.
Menu
In the homescreen you can find all of the relevant guidelines easily arranged according to relevant specialisms, such as:
Acute Tropical Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Neurology, Poisoning & Envenoming. Broader subjects such as Common presentations, calculators and nutritions can be found as well. Sneak peeks of soon available content can be seen in ‘Upcoming’.
Tools
Tools such as the APGAR score tool, the Glasgow Coma Scale tool and the fluid calculators can be found by clicking the tool button in the lower menu.
They allow quick and easy calculations and evaluations, useful for acute situations and complicated calculations.
HIV/AIDS
Several important epidemic diseases can be found in the app, offering all the relevant information for each disease such as the epidemiology, transmission routes, diagnosis, management and prevention strategies.
Malaria, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, leprosy and amoebiasis are covered as well in addition to HIV/AIDS.
Dosages
Quickly find fluids dosaging and indications by checking the Infusion fluids module or by using the fluid calculators. More information about dosaging antibiotics will follow soon.
